Day 18: A taste of summertime

Miles: 3.1
Miles to date: 42.25

I feel like I got a taste of summertime on my run today. With a temperature of nearly 45 degrees farenheit (which wasn’t even the high of the day!), today was my warmest run of Janathon and I thoroughly enjoyed it, doing a slow 3.1 miles.

Over halfway done with Janathon, I thought I would revisit my goals and give a status report.

  1. Jog, log and blog everyday.  —  CHECK!
  2. Run* everyday.  —  CHECK!
  3. Log 80 miles, on foot.  —  With 42.25 miles to date, I’m on my way, but if I hope to break that 80-mile mark, I better pick up the pace.
  4. Blog more than just Janathon progress.  —  Yes and no … I haven’t had a non-Janathon post, per se, but I’ve definitely written about more than just how far I ran. May I remind you of my long, detailed story of being locked out of my house?!
  5. Beat Caryn.  —  Well, I am in the lead, however, due to an injury (to Caryn, not me), we’ve amended the rules to our wager.

Overall, I’d say I’m doing pretty well. I’ve definitely had my bouts of doubt and hate towards Janathon, but I’ve also had a few really good runs because of Janathon. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the next couple of weeks have in store for me and my commitment to Janathon.

In the meantime, I’m going to continue enjoying my taste of summertime  — and I might mention I got to see this song performed live!
